| Our
Staff, Close Friends and Supporters |
Uwe Salwender, President
Uwe Salwender founded Salwender International in 1993, importing
Bogart Bass Guitars to the United States from Germany. Since
then, the company has grown from a part time effort to a full
blown distribution center for stringed instruments and amplification.
Uwe mostly enjoys family and friends, closely followed by music
in all different ways and in all different styles. A German
national, Uwe has lived in California for many years. His wife
and children complain that he spends too much time at his office.
Bill Bailey, Luthier
Bill has a long list of accomplishments under his belt. He started
his luthier career in the days when power guitars ruled the
industry. Bill adapted well to the changes and his experience
is of paramount importance to the in-house projects of Salwender
International. Bill inspects and adjusts all of our instruments
before delivery. He also works on his own custom guitars and
basses, as well as on the Bogart instruments. Bill enjoys challenges
and everything is "not a problem" for him.
Andy Schmidt, our Web master
Andy is our web site guru. He keeps it running and updated.
Without Andy, our web site would probably not exist. Andy has
perfected the term" computer geek" to a level that is unthinkable.
One day soon he will see sunlight again, because the Salwender
web site will be finished. Or maybe not?
Craig Johnson, Photographer
Craig Johnson is a very special kind of person. He would meet
with Uwe at his studio at 3.30AM to shoot a few basses that
needed to be delivered early that morning. Most of the images
on this site were photographed and scanned by Craig Johnson.
He specializes in digital productions. Craig welcomes the "I
need it now!" sort of challenge. He is a very special friend
and supporter of Salwender International.
John Prock, Artists Relations
John Prock enjoys married life in Monterey, California and handles
Salwender's artists programs. His continued support and efforts
have been a vital part of the company's success. John has believed
in Salwender's products from day one and has never been wrong.
John is not only a dear friend, but just like family to the
owner. John's wife, Brooke, is a big factor in his fast forward
thinking and persistence.
Long Ly, LA Bass Exchange
Long has been a friend of Salwender's since the days of the
Bass Centre in Los Angeles. The Bass Centre has since disappeared,
but Long's friendship and support has lasted through the years.
Long now owns the famous "LA Bass Exchange" and has become a
highly valued customer of Salwender's. His input and opinions
have helped make many a decision in regards to product selection
and pricing.
Ron Moreno, BBESound/G&L Instruments
Ron Moreno has been around our company for a long time and has
freely critiqued our speaker products since day one. Ron has
become a close friend and has supported Salwender International
in a lot of ways.
Jason Simpson, Accounting
Jason Simpson has kept the company's books intact for several
years now. His expertise in accounting has become very
important to the company. He is also the owner's son-in-law,
and father of 3 children, Jordan, Melia, and Dillon.
Freddie DeSota
This man has become sort of a fixture around Salwender's offices.
He comes around and spreads joy and energy. He does not even
really work there, but still shows up and would be missed terribly
if somehow got lost.
Billy Howerdel
Billy - you rock! Billy has helped with making the Diezel product
a big success. His critical ear and knowledge of guitar products
is amazing. Billy is a great guitarist and is currently busy
with the band "One Perfect Circle".
The staff at Rock Harbor Church
These people have contributed a great deal to the positive energy
at Salwender's office. Their help in putting thinks in the right
perspective and allowing the owner to give back to the community
and ultimately to God has been an amazing asset. |
